Venkatraman Ramakrishnan vs. Richard Feynman
Side-by-side comparison of two thinkers
Venkatraman Ramakrishnan
1952 – present
Venkatraman Ramakrishnan is a British-American structural biologist. He shared the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Thomas A. Steitz and Ada Yonath for research on the structure and function of ribosomes.
"The ribosome does amazing chemistry, but I’m not a chemist…I’ve just learnt enough to work on my problem."
Richard Feynman
1918 – 1988
Richard Phillips Feynman was an American theoretical physicist. He shared the 1965 Nobel Prize in Physics with Julian Schwinger and Shin'ichirō Tomonaga "for their fundamental work in quantum electrodynamics (QED), with deep-ploughing consequences for the physics of elementary particles". He is also known for his work in the path integral formulation of quantum mechanics, the theory of the physics of the superfluidity of supercooled liquid helium, and the parton model.
"Physics isn't the most important thing. Love is."
