Hans Christian von Baeyer vs. Richard Feynman
Side-by-side comparison of two thinkers
Hans Christian von Baeyer
1938 – present
Hans Christian von Baeyer is a Chancellor Professor of Physics at the College of William and Mary. His books include Information: The New Language of Science, Warmth Disperses and Time Passes: The History of Heat, and QBism: The Future of Quantum Physics.
"In order to understand information, we must define it; bit in order to define it, we must first understand it. Where to start?"
Richard Feynman
1918 – 1988
Richard Phillips Feynman was an American theoretical physicist. He shared the 1965 Nobel Prize in Physics with Julian Schwinger and Shin'ichirō Tomonaga "for their fundamental work in quantum electrodynamics (QED), with deep-ploughing consequences for the physics of elementary particles". He is also known for his work in the path integral formulation of quantum mechanics, the theory of the physics of the superfluidity of supercooled liquid helium, and the parton model.
"Physics isn't the most important thing. Love is."
